Quilt Festival, Fabric and Quilt Patterns

Well, my morning started off on a great note!  International Quilt Festival has just announced they are bringing a show back to Chicago!  I’m just tickled pink about this!  June, 2013 – I’ll be there with bells on!
You can read more about that announcement here:
Next up on exciting news – I think I’ve got it all figured out on my website now!  Many of you have asked for Instant Download style patterns from us.  I kind of drug my feet on this for awhile for many different reasons and I’m still not to sure if everything will run smoothly, but you can now shop on our website for instant downloadable quilting patterns for purchase!
Come test it out for me and make sure it’s all working ok!
Click on the feathered star logo below to check this newest addition to our website out:
And lastly for today – I’ve uploaded the remaining fat quarter bundles in our inventory on our website.  There are a few good ones left at great prices!  Here’s the link for those – just click on the fabric bundle!!
I’m off to hand applique for a little while and then it’s on to the chiropractor for me today!  Have a great day!!!

See ya later!

We leave today for 2 back to back quilt shows!  We hope to meet several of you there – here’s where we will be:

National Quilting Association Quilt Show
Columbus, Ohio
at the Greater Columbus Convention Center
June16-18, 2011
Quilt Festival 2011
Summersville, W.V.
at the Summersville Arena & Convention Center
June 23-25

I’ve got my spool blocks all cut and prepped and ready to work on.  A bag full of Dear Jane goodies to play around with.  Plus, I’ve packed up all my little prepped blocks for the basket quilt – you know the one – the Blackbird Designs quilt that I will forever be working on!!!

I promise to take lots of pictures and I’ll try my best to figure out how to upload those on the laptop while we are gone!

The following message is also posted on our website – but in case you missed it here it is:

We are out of town vending at 2 different back to back quilt shows!  We will be in Columbus, Ohio vending at the NQA quilt show and then on to Summersville, West Virginia to vend at the West Virginia State Quilt Guild show!

With that said, we will have a back up on filling all orders placed from now until we return on – or around July 5th, 2011.  We have all of our inventory with us and we will be trying our best to fill any orders we possibly can while we are traveling – this will not be easy, but we are going to try our hardest to process orders in between shows!
All orders received after 5 pm Central Time on Thursday June 9, 2011 will be filled in the order they were received in between quilt shows and when we return on July 5th, 2011.
Wish us luck!

In other news…..
I’m sad to say, but Annandale has not arrived.  I’m so upset I was not a very nice person to be around yesterday (when the fabric was supposed to have arrived) I was so frustrated.  Here is how my day went – 5 am I was up and on the phone calling our local UPS substation requesting (more like begging) them to hold all my incoming boxes so that I could pick them up instead of waiting until 4:30 in the evening (when I would be gone setting up for the quilt show!) for our fabric delivery.
UPS gladly agreed to pick all the boxes (between 8 – 10) I was guessing I should have.  I arrive at 9 am on the dot, when the customer care center opens.  They only had 4 boxes – what?????? Where’s Annandale?

I get on my cell phone on the way home and call to find out where that fabric is.
I was told they have no tracking number.  What???? How could that be?
At 2 pm in the afternoon I get a call with the tracking number.  Those Annandale boxes of fabric were not even shipped to us until this past Thursday – 2 days after I was promised they were being shipped out.  My delivery date is now Monday.  To say the least I was not happy – extremely frustrated is putting it mildly and in tears.
So, our lovely Annadale fabric is not sitting on a UPS truck somewhere in Ohio at the moment, I hope it’s having a safe ride.  Monday when it arrives I will be sitting in Des Moines – setting up our booth at that show and my husband has accepted the job of receiving the shipment and putting it in our work room.  My hands are tied and there is nothing I can do.  I’m very sorry, but this is out of my hands and is making me feel like I was not meant to have this fabric!  Ugggg.
I return from the show on Columbus Day – October 11 – which is a postal holiday.  I will spend that day cutting and packing up all the Annandale orders. Tuesday – every order will ship.
**************************
I wish you each safe travels if you come and visit either of the shows we are at these next two weeks.  I’m excited and looking forward to them. As always, I will do my best to get pictures of all the pretty quilts on display.

Heritage Quilters Guild Show

Just a quickie blog post to let you know where I’ll be hiding out this weekend:
2010 Heritage Quilters Guild Quilt Show:
September 25th and 26th, 2010

151 Lenox Street
New Lenox, IL
Saturday:  10am – 5pm
   Sunday:  10am – 4pm
For those of you that live in my area, I’d love to see you!  The quilt show is very easy to get to – it’s located right off of Interstate 80.
The above pictured quilt is the raffle quilt for this year.

And if you are coming from a little bit of a distance and want to hit some other neat things, there are 2 other quilt shows around the area and a few really great quilt shops.  So here’s links to that good stuff.

and if you go down to the show in Kankakee, you might want to go on the Kankakee County Barn Quilt Block Trail – the first county in Illinois with a self guided barn quilt block tour!  (this is a you-tube video!)

Cute New Pattern and Houston Quilt Festival Update

Well, just look at this cute little gem!  This little mug rug is a new design by Kathy Brown that is in the latest McCall’s Quilting magazine issue (Nov/Dec) that should be hitting your mailboxes and newstands soon!  I just love cute little snowmen on quilts, pennyrugs and mug rugs – just not the real thing – in my yard!   I’m not ready for the white stuff to be coming and I just read on  another blog where the dreaded “white stuff” made an appearance yesterday! Ugggg

And in other exciting news:

Are you ready for this?  The International Quilt Festival in Houston, Texas is coming really soon!  Above is the George R Brown convention center where thousands of quilters will be flooding into November 4 – 7!  It’s coming really quickly!  You can read more about it and all the shows info here:

Would you just not love to come be an exciting part of the show and dig through everone’s booth of quilting goodies!
We’ll be there with bells on in the 2000 aisle – booths 2013 – 2019 to be exact.  And this year we have a new addition to our little workforce.
My husband Bob is coming with me!  Yeah Bob!  It’s going to be so nice not making that long drive to Texas and back home by myself.  It’ll be nice to spend 10 days together working at the quilt show, driving the hundreds of miles to get there and back home when it’s over and unloading and re-loading the trailer together!
Be sure you stop by and say hi if you are going to the show!  And be gentle on dear Bob – we have to break him in gently – he’s a newbie to helping out at the quilt shows!
Have a great weekend my quiltie friends!
