Hands All Around Quilt Guild Show 2013

This past Sunday I had the privilege of going to one of my favorite guild quilt shows.  I enjoy this show so much because of not only the talent, but the amount of hand piecing, hand applique and hand quilting that this wonderful group does.
Here is a link where you can go and view all the quilts I took pictures of – these are located in my Google Account and I welcome you to join my “circle” there so that you can see the other wonderful photos in my album.

You can also view the quilts in my Flickr account if you prefer, here is that link:

Here’s a couple of my favorites:

Antique Show and Quilt Retreat

This past weekend I had the pleasure of visiting an Antique and Primitives show in Arthur, Arcola and Tuscola, Illinois.  It was beyond my imagination and extremely fun.  Myself and 3 great friends set off early last Friday morning full of excitement at the gorgeous things we would find.
A wonderful two days was spent shopping and enjoying all the treasures we found.  Then it was time to part ways and be on my way to a small quilt retreat with other friends.  Sadly I could only spend 2 days retreating – but it was so worth it for the fun girl time we had!
Here’s a few pictures I took of quilts on display at the antiques and primitives show!

My wonderful lunch at a sweet and charming tea room!

My loaded vehicle with all the goodies purchased between ourselves!

Blue Moon of Kentucky Pattern Winner!!

I just cannot tell you how excited I get when emails come in from people with pictures showing me their finished quilts or projects made from my patterns!  I really love hearing from people and this young lady just made my day!
This is Jean and she made Blue Moon of Kentucky from the quilt pattern that was in the August 2007 issue of American Patchwork and Quilting magazine!  Jean – I’m so impressed and thrilled for you!  She titled her quilt Moody Blues and won first place in the medium size bed quilts and won first place!  This quilt was shown at the Galesburg Illinois Piecemakers Quilt Guild. Plus she won first place in Best of Show for all Bed Quilts!  How exciting!
Jean will now be entering this quilt into the April 2013 Paducah show!  I wish you the best Jean!
For a copy of this quilt pattern – locate the August 2007 issue of American Patchwork and Quilting magazine or you can purchase a copy here on my website:

Acorn Quilt Shop – A sneak peek at my designs

Last weekend while at the Prairie Star Quilters Guild show I was in a vendors booth and low and behold what do I see??
Above is our #415 Spirit Of The Season pattern design!!!
Above is our #418 Bittersweet Blossoms pattern design!
Both of these patterns and the kits that the shop assembled are available through:
Acorn Quilts

That was so exciting to see both of my designs made up in brighter fabrics!  They were so kind to allow me to take photos to share with you.  If you are interested in either the pattern or the kit – give them a call!

PSQG Quilt Show Photos

Last weekend I had the pleasure of attending the Prairie Star Quilters Guild Show.  What a wonderful show it was – I’m really tempted to join their quilt guild!  Such talented and friendly ladies
Here’s a link to the album I created through Google Photos!!!
Here’s a few of the quilts I had the pleasure of viewing if you do not have time to view my album right now!  There are 164 pictures in the album – so it might take you a little while to look at them all!

From what I have read – WebShots – my former favorite photo uploader is shutting down!  Do you know of any good online photo services that I could use to create slideshows and collages???
Have a great day!

Oswego, Illinois Outdoor Quilt Show 2012

Two Saturday’s ago I was able to visit the 1st ever Outdoor Quilt Show in Oswego, Illinois.
This show was outstanding!  It was so wonderful to view quilts outside and the lighting was excellent for taking photos – which of course I’ll share with you!
Prairie Stitches Quilt Shop of Oswego, Illinois and their employees and many other volunteers worked extremely hard to make this show happen and I’m looking forward to it again in the future.  Edyta Sitar of Laundry Basket Quilts was their featured Quilt Star
and she was signing her new book which you might recognize below – and showing her quilts.

And without further ado – here is a link to my photo album of the quilts that I had the pleasure of viewing.  I did my best to photograph each of the tags with each quilt also, but I was not able to do every single one as it was a little windy outside and some of the tag photos just didn’t turn out so hot.  Enjoy!!

Enjoy – and don’t forget – we have a Blog Give Away going on right now!  If you missed yesterday’s post – click on this link to go read about it!!

Illinois Valley Quilters’ Guild Show 2012

Yesterday I showed you the pictures from the Pilgrim Roy Challenge that was on display at this quilt show. Today – here are the photos I took of a few of the quilts on display in the show put on by the Illinois Valley Quilters’ Guild in Ottawa, Illinois!
(And like I mentioned yesterday, please forgive my photography skills – I had to resort to using my IPhone camera which I’m terrible with!)
Here is the slide show and if you do not want to watch the quilts on the slideshow – you can click on the link below which will take you directly to my webshots album and you can pick and choose what you look at!

Illinois Valley Quilters’ Guild 2012 Show

Pilgrim Roy AQS Challenge Quilts

Last weekend I created a little adventure for myself on Saturday and went to visit a few quilt shops I do not get out to visit often (which was excellent by the way) and I also went to visit a quilt show in Ottawa, Illinois put on by the Illinois Valley Quilters’s Guild.  This was a fun show that I’ve never been to before!
I created a little slide show for you of the quilts that were on display from the Pilgrim Roy Challenge.  Tomorrow I’ll show you the rest of the quilts on display at the show.
But first – I must apologize for these photos and tomorrows photos – they are not the best quality.  I had to use my IPhone’s camera which I’m not that great at using!  I brought my good camera to the show with me, but once I got there I realized I had left the battery at home!  Oooooofffff!

Here is the slide show and if you do not want to watch the quilts on the slideshow – you can click on the link below which will take you directly to my webshots album and you can pick and choose what you look at!

Pride Of The Prairie Quilt Guild Show March 2012

I finally finished uploading all the pictures I took from last weekends quilt show that my local quilt guild – The Pride of The Prairie put on!  Here’s a couple peeks at what I saw and at the bottom of this post you will find a link to my Picasa Album where you can browse the quilts at your leisure! While taking pictures, I tried really hard to get a snapshot of each quilts description card also!  Enjoy!!!
