New Patterns Designs and Other Ramblings….

We’ve been busy working on several new patterns and we finally finished everything up late yesterday and have them all available on our website!
Introducing ~
(links to each pattern on our website is directly below each photo!)
And as a gift for my blog readers, you may use a special code on my website to receive 20% off any of our patterns – PDF and Printed versions!  I’ve made the code good from now through January 31, 2019. The code is ~
 QRDBLOG2019
(all capital letters and just like you see the code typed above)
Discount Codes are easy to use on our website – once you are ready to check out, just click on the “Check Out” button on the shopping cart page.  You will see the screen in the photo above.  All the way to the right of the screen where that black finger is pointing on the picture is where you enter the discount code!
Patterns #439 – #443 you might have noticed are all done in the colors of blues, creams and browns.  I used a beautiful new line of fabric that is shipping to your favorite Quilt Shops this month!
This is Charlotte c. 1860. Carrie Quinn, owner of Pieceful Gatherings Quilt Shop in Fox River Grove, Illinois is the designer
The shop has fat quarter bundles available for Pre-Order on the website, so here’s a link to hop on over and check those out:
Carrie designed this quilt shown above called Charlotte’s Medallion and she has it on the shop website available as a Block Of The Month Program  Here’s the direct link for that:
Carrie also designed the quilt shown above called Charlie’s Star Puzzle!  Isn’t it amazing!
On Little Bits pattern #444 I used all fabrics from another of my favorite designers ~ Pam Buda.
She has her beautiful fabrics on her website in yardage and layer cakes ~ layer cakes are perfect for the Little Bits pattern ~ follow this link
But ~~~~  shown above is another game changer in our fabric loving worlds ~  6″ rolls of her lovely fabric.  Oh my goodness, I’m in love with these!  You can order these fabulous rolls (which also work with the Little Bits pattern perfectly!)  here at this link:
And I’ve blogged about her newest book that she wrote before but I must show you again:
I cannot tell you have much I love this book.  If you haven’t seen it yet, be sure and order it. It is a must have for your quilting library.  It can be found here:

Day #3 Redwork Stitchery Ornament & Lollipop Ornaments Tutorial

I love these little ornaments! So cute and quick to stitch up! The tutorial is a nice full-color download for you.
and then I also found another cute ornament tutorial for you today…..
Don’t these look fun and so clever!  Easy enough to whip up in no time at all to decorate your Christmas Tree!

I love the buttons in the center as added dimension and the ribbon tied around the lollipop stick!  What’s that – no ribbon on hand you say?  Never fear – just use some of the fabrics you do have on hand a cut a small strip of fabric!

I really like the idea of some bright and cheery fabric lollipops added to a Christmas tree, especially if you have little girls and boys in your household that would delight in seeing the added pop of color on the tree.  But if you are a bit more traditional…..

The fabric combinations are endless.

Look at that aqua and red fabric combination in the bottom row, center photo. I love aqua and red together – such a cheery fabric combination!

Oh and don’t get me started on how cute these little lollipops would be in my favorite civil war reproduction fabrics!  Oh, be still my heart, I may have to go dig into my collection of Pam Buda’s luscious greens and reds and creams from her lovely fabrics! (an awesome fabric designer for Marcus Fabrics, which I’m sure you already knew that!)
And speaking of Miss Pam, have you seen her new book? It’s called “Vintage Patchwork” and it’s the most delightful and lovely book.
Packed with the loveliest projects and clever????  This whole book is organized around the thought that you can create the projects within using just one of her 10″ square bundles of fabric. She designed this fabric called Prairie Basics And Shirtings and it is just luscious!

And above is a little look at the projects in the book! Earlier, I shared the link to her website which will lead you directly to her page where you can order the book only.  This link just below will show you the “Grand-daddy” present for yourself – go order the book and the fabric bundle because you are worth it my friend!
Have fun with this tutorial I shared today and I hope you can dig into your own fabric stash and find some treasures to make a couple or three lollipops for your Christmas tree this year!

And today – here’s a little fun fact I found on FaceBook this morning!

Depression 1931 when they realized women were using their
sacks to make clothes for their children, the mills in West Virginia, Kentucky & Ohio started using flowered fabric for their sacks. The label was designed to wash out. If not for this many people wouldn’t have had clothes or quilts
