Day #25 Snowman Tutorial and a Very Merry Christmas to You!!!

Merry Christmas to you and your families!  I wish you the best holiday and hope each of you gets to spend cherished time with loved ones.
Today’s post will be short and sweet, but the finished snowman is nothing but adorable!  This little guy will be perfect for decorating your home throughout the rest of the winter season!
He only needs a few supplies, and as quilters, I imagine we have most of them.  If you don’t have an old sweater for his cap substitute some fleece!

Day #24 Snowman Mug Rug Tutorial

Here is another cute little tutorial I found for you!
This sweet little snowman mug rug will be perfect to see your home through the winter and add a touch of whimsy to your home!  Don’t you think?

Merry Christmas Eve everyone.  I hope Santa finds your home easily tonight and brings you all your heart desires. Love your friends and family and spend precious moments together making lots of memories!

Day #23 Snowman Pillow and Quilt Tutorial

I was able to find another sweet snowman project to share with you!  Look how easy and simple! A nice way to use up some charm square size fabrics also!
A simple little snowball quilt block easily turns into a festive snowman!
Let your imagination run a little with this for a minute or two.  You could easily make a tablerunner. Snowmen placemats, potholders, pillows, mug rugs, etc.

The ideas are endless and I hope this tutorial inspires you to sew and be creative today.  Go play, have a little fun and enjoy yourself!

Day #22 Snowman Pillow & Quilt Tutorial

Look at how cute these two tutorials are!  I was so excited when I came across these completely free pattern downloads to share with you.  This creative quilter has a few other beautiful tutorials that she shares with you also on her blog.
When you click the link to go over to her blog, both of these pattern images show up at the top of the page. Just click on whichever image and the file will download automatically for you!
Enjoy your day and happy sewing!

Day #20 Cute Christmas Gift Tag Tutorial – Blogging Challenge Continues!!!!

I was so tickled to find this little tutorial!  I love handmade gifts. I really love these handmade gift tags!.  All from little scraps!  These are just so stinking cute!

I really love that little gingham ribbon she has used on the top of the gift tags also.  If you have a little homespun fabric in your stash – that will work also!

Polka Dots!  Always such a cute addition! Another little idea – if you are like me and don’t have ribbon laying around – use some fabric from your stash!  Iron some wonder under or Heat and Bond to the back of a piece of fabric. Cut small strips to use for the little ribbon on the package and iron it in place. OR you could simply use fabric glue instead of a fusible product.  Then make a simple little bow out of a slender strip of fabric for the top of the package on this little Christmas tag idea! Easy!

Buttons are always such a cute addition. I have jars of buttons in my home and can always find a button if I need one. But – if you don’t have buttons – make a little fabric yo-yo!
Just a few more days before Santa arrives. I’m ready, are you?

Wouldn’t these look awesome on your dining room table for your holiday decor!
Enjoy this tutorial and happy stitching!

Day #16 Holiday Mug Rug Tutorial

I found another cute tutorial to share with you!  These not only would be cute in your own home but such a sweet gift idea also!  Just think for a second, make a mug rug, find a cute coffee mug, toss in a couple pouches of hot cocoa mix, or a small box of flavored tea or even a coffee house gift card! Instant Christmas gift to spread a little Christmas cheer to a friend, loved one, teacher, pastor, postal worker, hairdresser, your favorite cashier at the local grocery store, etc!
Look how cute!  And only uses small amounts of fabric!

I hope you enjoyed this little tutorial I found to share with you.  We are just about 1/2 way through my self-induced 31-day blogging challenge. I hope you are enjoying our blog and finding wonderful new things to make and spark your own creativity!

Day #15 Christmas Tree Pillow Pattern Freebie — The Blogging Challenge Continues!

Look at this cute project!  Love it!
The Moda Bake Shop folks shared this delightful free pattern on the blog not too long ago and I think it’s just the cutest, quick project to make up to add a splash of color to any room in your home!

Look at that sparkly fabric!  I love the added glitz to this project.  I was thinking though —there I go again thinking, it gets me in trouble sometimes….. Anyhow – this could easily be done as a wool applique project also. Use some of the wool fabrics you may have and add some fancy stitching around the edges of the Christmas tree in a stand out color of embroidery floss to add a little bling!
Here’s the backside view of the pillow.  I love pillows like this because you can easily make a pillow form that will fit this size pillow. Then easily switch out this Christmas themed pillow for maybe a Snowman you could make later on, or an Easter Bunny for Spring, Pumpkins, and Leaves for the Fall Season.  Oh, the ideas are just endless.  Let your mind wander for just a little bit with this.
Be creative. Sit down and enjoy making this pillow. Then pull out a good old pencil and paper and draw out some other shapes and make up a few more pillows to change for the seasons!

Day #13 Christmas Gift Bag Pattern and Tutorial Freebie – It’s a Cute one!!!

I just love this adorable little bag I found the pattern for over on the Moda Bake Shop Blog!  It’s another great pattern to use up small bits of fabric and embroidery floss.  What a cute gift giving idea!

Front of the Bag

Back of the bag.
I hope all of you are enjoying the patterns I’ve been finding and sharing with you during the holiday season. I’ve gotten quite lucky so far in finding some very unique and cute ideas for decorating and/or gift giving. As we get closer to Christmas, I’ll try to change it up a little and shift into some Snowmen themed ideas to hold us through the winter season after Christmas is over!
Now, on my list today I have the following fun things to do:
3,000 words need to be typed for my book to keep on track for my personal goal – oh and I’ll drop a little hint here – yes it’s a real book – a fiction book – Nope, not a quilting pattern book this time. When will it be out – I have no clue because I don’t even have a publisher!  (Insert me giggling at that last comment!)  Just doing this on my own and once I’m finished, then it’s full speed ahead to get it in the right hands. Oh – and another hint – yes it does involve a little bit of quilting here and there thrown in, of course, would you expect any less from me????? I’ll tell ya more later but for now  — Mum’s the word, I enjoy the suspense!
I have a lovely stack of fabric that I stamped with the most wonderful quilt stamps that need to be cut out and then will be ready for hand piecing.
I have a pot of soup I want to make for today and the next few days that I’ve had a taste for. Italian Wedding Ring soup – and it is so good!
Above is a picture of the Chocolate Chip Zucchini Bread I made this past weekend as a special treat for my daughter who is now home and on break from college. Visit the link below if you would like a copy of this recipe!
More firewood needs to be brought in for my woodstove and fireplace. I love the warmth and ambiance of a wood burning stove and a fireplace. It truly makes my cabin an even more wonderful place to be on a cold winters day.
